This is the unfortunate thing that happens when you try to photograph a 1 year old in 30ish degree weather. I still think she looks completely adorable though, haha.

Before the meltdown we were able to shoot for about an hour and I think we got some amazing shots of this family. It was so wonderful working with them and I hope to do it again in the future when it's a little warmer of course. ;)

It's that time of year again - the time of year when we tend to spend to much money....Christmas! ugh... ;) Really though I LOVE Christmas! I was so excited to get to spend some time with my neice and nephew today to photograph their Christmas portraits.

I had plenty of time to edit while I was trying to ignore Oklahoma biting the dust during bedlam.

Prepare for a longer than usual post :)

A little background: I met Summer when I started working for Waste Connections and in the year we've known each other I'd call her one of my best friends.

In January (2011) Summer and I began a complete lifestyle change. We decided that neither one of us felt good in our skin and it was about time to do something about it! I started counting calories and eventually seeing a trainer and Summer decided to try Weight Watchers again. Who knew that she would be so dang successful! Since then she's lost 87 lbs and has met her weight loss goal (just in time for her to get engaged! Congrats again!!!). It's seriously insane.... My measly 34 lbs sounds so bad next to her 87 haha!

I really can't tell you how proud I am of her. She built up so much will power in the process. Summer will definitely be my go to girl when I need to lose the baby weight this spring. :)

Since we did Summer's family photos last December and again this November I decided to put together a little before and after. When I was digging through the photos I was so in aw of how much of a difference 87lbs makes!

I LOVE this girl!

I finally had the opportunity to shoot Jessica's family again and it was a blast. I was pretty stressed out because we really didn't have the pretty fall colors that we planned for but hey it's Oklahoma what do you expect?!

It's really insane how much her girls have grown! One has become more cooperative and one was a bit less but we still got some super cute shots!

I had the pleasure of photographing this couple in May of 2010 so when I heard the news that they got engaged I have to say I got so excited! haha They are so much fun during photoshoots, I knew this one would be a breeze. Daphne already had a couple locations lined up....a bridge where Andrew proposed and the lake pavilion where they first met. I love shooting at locations that are this meaningful to any family/couple. I do wish though that the bridge location was in Chickasha and not Duncan. I fell in LOVE! So gorgeous, especially this time of year...

I'm going a tiny bit overboard with their sneak peek but there's just so many to chose from! :)

I met Shelly about 8 months or so ago after I began my weight loss journey. I was in a rut - lost about 20lbs and needed to take the next step: contacting a personal trainer. After meeting with Shelly for the first time I KNEW she was perfect for me! I lost about another 15lbs training before I was blessed with my pregnancy. Since then I've been too paranoid to do too much so I've put off my training until after my baby girl gets here.

I was SOOO excited when Shelly contacted me to do her and her hubby's anniversary photos. We've been talking about doing it for quite some time but we finally set a date!

It's a Girl!!!!!

So it looks like my little business blog is slowly turning into a family blog - guess priorities are changing! :)

We had our first ultrasound this last Monday and I have to tell you it made all the morning sickness and pains COMPLETELY worth it. She was an active little peanut - doing little somersaults all over the place (I can probably blame it on the cupcake I hate before hand). They measured all her organs, her spine, etc and everything was up to par. She's a healthy little girl with all her little fingers and toes. I don't know if Dylan and I have ever been this happy in our lives. So much is changing but I'm so glad it is!

I do have to admit that I was so ready to find out if she was a boy or a girl but as soon as I saw her I really didn't care if we'd be able to tell or not. I was kind of taken by surprise when she said it was a girl (I really thought she'd be a boy!) - now we have a whole new set of problems to look forward to....BOYS....ugh.

Meet little "Peanut" - sorry we don't have a name for her yet!

I enjoy getting to work with clients on multiple occasions. It always feels like such a compliment when they call me back for a second shoot. :)

I shot Kirsta's Senior Portraits last year and when she shot me an email to ask if I could do her engagement photos this year I was STOKED! I knew that shooting Kirsta wasn't going to be a problem (she's SOOO outgoing) but I ALWAYS worry about the fiance! haha.....He really opened up and they were up for anything. It was about 104 degrees that day but I didn't hear ONE complaint come out of them. :) You can tell how in love these two are....it's so sweet.

Please Keep our Community in Your Prayers | Tornadoes in Chickasha, OK

Tornadoes swept through Central Oklahoma yesterday evening. Unfortunately 5 people were killed and a toddler in Piedmont was swept away and is still missing.

After watching the tornado rip through Chickasha on our front porch (yes I know "you may be a redneck when...") we decided to take a drive through town.... I can't describe the feelings I felt when seeing the destruction in our small town. I just couldn't stop praying for the families who have lost their homes and businesses.

Fortunately our home was far enough away that we were not affected; but we can't say the same for others.

Please keep the people Central Oklahoma prayers......pray that the toddler is returned home safely.

Happy Anniversary | 5 Years

Saturday my friend, Amanda (of Crosslight Photography), came over to photograph Dylan and I for our 5 year anniversary. We have NEVER had our photos done professionally. Well we tried at one point but the photographer was a no show and wouldn't answer our phone calls lol! We had so much fun shooting! Dylan was his happiest when it was over...typical man ;).

These pictures really meant a lot to me and Amanda did such an amazing job photographing who we really are!

Let me give you a little back story:

Nearly 10 years ago my oldest brother decided that paintballing might be a sport that he'd be interested in, regardless of the obvious fact that a little hard ball of paint traveling at approximately 300 FPS (Feet Per Second) is probably going to hurt like the dickens, he did it anyway. Boy am I glad he decided to be a little idiotic because that's where he met my future husband! Cory (my brother) started paintballing with Dylan (my hubby) regularly for a few years. I had known Dylan for quite sometime but after all he was my brothers best friend so he was off limits right? ;) I can remember when I first met Dylan's mother (long before Dylan and I ever thought about dating) and she would tell me that I needed to date her son! That we would just be PERFECT for each other....At the time I had a boyfriend so of course I was like NO WAY! haha.

My junior year of highschool came and I was really having a rough patch in my life. Home, boyfriend, friends...you name it. Everything just seemed to be going south for me. I started to notice Dylan a little bit more (I imagine he was noticing me too! hehe).....I don't know how or when it started but I think we were chatting online (do people still do this?) and he was going to my brother's college apartment to watch a movie and he invited me along. I decided to go with him and after that we were really inseperable. I found that Dylan was there more for me through everything than anyone else ever had. He understood what I was going through..... It was a really nice feeling. No one had ever treated me the way he did.

February 18th, 2005 we made it official. We were together - as boyfriend and girlfriend. We made it even more permanent by getting engaged February 18th of 2006 and getting married on May 18th 2006 (the day before my high school graduation). We didn't have a huge wedding or even a wedding at all. We decided in the situation that we and our families were in that it would just be best to go to the courthouse.

Yes we have had our ups and downs and loop-de-loops like all couples do but we made it through stronger than ever. I really don't know what I would do without my country boy. He's everything to me.... I know it's corny but it is what it is. He's my husband and my best friend. From the get go he put up with my mood swings and my inability to make decisions ;). He's done everything in his power to make sure we live a good life. We always said we'd wait 5 years after we got married to start a family.....maybe it's time to jump on the baby band wagon!

A couple months back my good friend and fellow photographer Amanda of Cross Light Photography asked me if I would be interested in shooting a couple of her seniors really just to have some fun! Well I have to tell you we had such a BLAST! There was no pressure of a time limit, we just took all day and drove all over the place for some awesome locations. Levi and Taylor were just a blast to shoot. I don't think I've ever laughed so much!

Now Slam Sessions are not only for seniors! If you think you would be interested in something like that just get with myself or Amanda!

Taylor and my husband are the best of friends. I don't know how he ever lived without her ;). hehe. She's such a fun, sassy little girl! She really brings so much life to our photoshoots!

Well right after our shoot Dylan said something to her and she threatened to beat him up, well of course he egged her on! She ran over there creating some karate moves then doubled up her fist and bloodied his lip. It was pretty hilarious! I'm still laughing about it. hehe :)

Anyway enough with the stories! We had Taylor in the studio to shoot her dance photos. She was so much fun as always and really made the shoot her own.

New Year | New Me (Updated)

Well it has been a while since I posted a blog about life; so I thought I would bore all of you with one today! :)

Back in January I created a post call New Year | New Me.....In this post I explained my struggle with my weight. My New Years resolution has been to lost at least 40lbs and I am happy to announce that I'm over half way to my goal. I've lost 22.2 lbs so far! Although I did stop using sparkpeople.com because I realized that actually tracking my food the old fashion way by writing it down made me more aware of what I was putting into my body than letting the computer do it for me.

I've had so much encouragement from friends and family it's unreal!
My husband, Dylan, has been so understanding from the start. He helps and encourages me any way he can.
I'm not doing this alone - Summer, a friend and co-worker, is doing Weight Watchers so I'm happy that I don't have the temptations at work that I would normally have. Scottie, a friend of mine, is a personal trainer out of Lawton and is FULL of so much awesome information. She's been there since day 1 and always answers any questions I may have - you can view her blog here (I really wished that I could have trained with her but it's an hour drive :( ).

I was stuck for about 3 weeks with a weight gain of 2-3lbs and I decided I needed a personal trainer to kick me in the butt and get me back on track. I started seeing Shelly Barrington here in Chickasha.....She works out of Electric Beach and she rocks! It's always been hard for me to find a fitness trainer that I can really mesh with. I can relate to her on a lot of levels and she just really pushes me. My amazing sister-in-law, Tabitha, goes with me twice a week (I NEED her there with me haha). It's really a lot of fun but I feel like falling over at the end of each session. Shelly has encouraged us to do at least 30 minutes of cardio on the days we don't train but still take 2 days off a week. I worked out 8 times in 6 days last week! I felt so good by the end of the week except for the soreness of course haha. I lost 3.2 lbs last week and am hopefully going strong this week.

I don't look at any of this as a diet, in fact if you look up "diet" in Websters dictionary the definition is "food and drink regularly provided or consumed" (thank you Shelly for this info), if you look at it this way everyone is on a diet! You can't do these "fad" diets they have for a couple months, lose some weight then go back to the way you use to eat and keep it off. Are you going to cut out carbs for the rest of your life? If your like me the answer is HECK NO! So I still have my carbs, but in moderation. You will never succeed if you don't change your lifestyle. I am finally coming to realize that thanks to Scottie and Shelly. :)

It's that time of year again, Tooty's birthday!!!

Makayla and her mommy came to visit me for her yearly birthday pictures. I haven't photographed her since Christmas and I tell you that's WAAAAY too long! I love this child but sadly she loves my husband more than me! haha. Anytime she comes over to our house she has to double check with her mommy first that Dylan will be there ;).

We had so much fun with the John Deere theme! Of course she was so antsy to get finished so Dylan could take her for a ride! These are just a couple from the session. Enjoy!

If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away? | Kaylee Dawn Moon

There's a beautiful song by country artist Justin Moore that just came out recentley called If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away. As I drove to work this morning this song came on the radio and I really took the time to listen to every word....It brought tears to my eyes as I remembered each and every person I have lost in my life over the years that I would give anything to see just one more time. I thought about my grandmother, my uncle, 2 aunts and of course my baby sister.

Kaylee Dawn Moon was born on April 18, 1998 with what is called Partial Trisomy 13 (you can read more about it here). This syndrome only occurs in about 1 out of 10,000 newborns; so why her?! That is the question I asked God so many times after she was finally diagnosed, but now I understand that God blessed us for 3 wonderful years with the best child I have and will ever know. She had severe acid reflux and was in constant pain but for most of her life but she hardly ever showed it. Some of her symptoms included: sleep apnea, very slow development, seizures, feeding problems, breathing difficulty and much much more. She blew the doctors away with the things that she could do that of course they said she would never..... She could crawl (her little bear crawl but it got her from point a to b!), she could talk a little bit (she called me Eica), for the most part should could let us know what she wanted one way or another..... She unlocked the hearts to so many people around us and left a life-long impression. I honestly believed she would out live us all!

As her health started to deteriorate, I just couldn't make myself believe that one day I would live without my baby sister, after all I was going to be the one to take her shopping at the mall when she got older and be the typical big sister. As my brother and I packed for Falls Creek in June of 2001 I gave her a kiss goodbye and we got on the bus.....just a couple days later our youth minister let us know she was in the hospital in "critical condition".....I just thought to myself "she's always in the hospital, she'll be okay". My brother and I got into the car and headed home....as soon as we got home my parents were gone which was to be expected but my grandmother was waiting at the door....we asked how Kaylee was doing and she broke down and told us that she had passed away the night before....I didn't know what to do or say and just broke down...I cursed God that he would do this to our family; take away a sister and daughter, how could he do this to us? Haven't we already been through enough? I just couldn't fathom the thought of not having her around anymore. I believe I blocked most of that day and the funeral out as well. I really can't remember much about the next few days and haven't since about a week after it happened. But what I do know if God didn't do it to be cruel....he did it because she was suffering and that's where she needed to be. I am so happy that our family was chosen to care for Kaylee during her very short life, I feel blessed to ever have known her.

Kaylee would be 13 this year....it's crazy to think that she's been gone almost 10 years; that she would be a teenager this year! I can remember her beautiful strawberry blonde, curly hair. And her excitement when I would put her in the empty washer (don't worry I never turned it on hehe!), and how she loved to "honk" my brothers nose. She had a BEAUTIFUL smile that could warm even the coldest heart. I will never forget this child....she may be gone but her memories will never leave me.

I always wish that my husband could have met her..... He would have loved everything about her. It would be amazing if we could just pack up and go on a trip to heaven so he could meet her. I know it's impossible, but I know she's looking down on us and I hope she's proud of who her big sister has become.

We finally had the opportunity to have her first photoshoot and I gotta say that she likes the camera A LOT more than my nephew EVER has!

She's such a beautiful baby!

You can't help but fall in love with her, she's a great baby!

We tried hanging the pod but she was just way too little! It swallowed her whole! ;)

Last weekend a friend of mine, Whitney- who I've known since I was about 6 years old, came over with her baby girl, Baby "M", and her mom, Jeri, to practice with some of my new studio equipment (no, I am sorry this does not mean I am offering studio sessions to the public :( ).

I haven't photographed Miss "M" since she was about 4 months old, here she is 11 months old and still has the same awesome attitude! She's such a beautiful baby, I can't wait to see her again!

And yes, her eyes really are that blue....I did not touch them up at all. :)

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

So I heard some news today...if you haven't already read the previous post about Scottie and Aj do so now before continuing any further...........okay, so now that you've read it (lol!) you already know that Aj s in the military and they are the most perfect couple I've EVER met, also that Aj was on leave when we took these photos; welllllll, I heard some news yesterday! BRACE YOURSELVES! He might get to come home SUPER early, like mid-April early! We all know how the military works though and that could change at any minute so what I ask is that you all keep both Scottie and Aj and all of their family in prayers that he comes home safe and they don't play around with the date. :).

Scottie I'm looking forward to next weekend! :)

The Plan......what plan?! | Introducing Baby Lennon......

I received a call last Friday from my sister in law, Tabitha, asking if I could do her maternity photos that weekend.....But since my brother, Cory, was paintballing on Saturday and I had Dylan's birthday dinner on Sunday we decided to do it the next weekend; after all Lennon was "scheduled" to come into this world via c-section on February 23rd.

Well apparently plans changed.... :) Instead of doing maternity pictures this weekend I imagine I will be photographing baby Lennon's newborn photo instead.

Anyone that's close to me knows how excited I've been about my niece coming into the world.... I've been grinning from ear to ear since yesterday morning.

Lennon is Cory and Tabitha's miracle baby.... enough said.

Snoklahoma? | Chickasha, OK Snow Storm

We were snowed in Tuesday and Wednesday and FINAAAALLLLY was able to break out of the snow drifts on our little country bumpkin roads (thank the Lord for farmers!!!). Unfortunatley they didn't clear all of the road and we still have to drive through fields to make it to our house. I really thought we were going to lose it....well my husband really because I'm a complete homebody as it is! :) I don't think I've ever been as happy to be at work as I was yesterday!

Wednesday I managed to capture a photo as we drove around.....well mainly got stuck lol! Please ignore the poor quality - this was taken with my cell phone!
These drifts don't compare to what was up ahead, it was just still blocked off....
Thank goodness for Jeeps! My little ol' Envoy is still stuck in my drive way!

Scottie and I had been emailing back and fourth for a while talking about photographing her and her husband when he came home for R&R. Yes, Aj is in the military and I don't think I can thank him enough for serving our country. I was so excited to photograph the 2 of them just a few days after he came home. After meeting them I knew we all clicked right away! When Aj realized that I wasn't going to ask him to look directly into the camera and say cheese he relaxed quite quickly. There is no denying the two of them are so deeply in love... I have to admit I went a little trigger happy during their shoot!

Scottie and Aj, I was so happy to meet the two of you and really get to know you as a couple! You are not clients, you are friends :). Please enjoy your sneak peek!

I'm not the photographer that screams "SAY CHEESE!", I never have been and I never will be....But when the youngest boy in the "J" family yells, "FUZZY PEACHES!" on his own....I just can't resist. Sometimes it just works out :).

I had the honor of shooting the "J" family last weekend while all 18 of them were together for a very special day... their grandmother's birthday. I understand how hard it has to be to get everyone together at once but they did it! They were such an amazing family....so cooperative and well organized (a photographers dream). Unfortunately the light didn't cooperate so well....shooting in direct sunlight is a nightmare for me but we made it work; and might I say I'm very happy with the outcome... :)

Following is a sneak peek of what I have done so far; I still have a ways to go!

A Look Back | Chickasha, Oklahoma Landscape Photographer

My post these days are seeming a little bare ;). I just wanted to share some landscapes I've taken over the past couple years....

Above: This was taken at a secluded location near Echo Lake at the bast of Mt. Evans in Evergreen, Colorado. I just love that little golden spot shining on the rock from the sun :).

Above: This was taken a few weeks ago just outside my home in Chickasha. The colors were so amazing, I LOVE sunrises here in Oklahoma! :) That's the biggest thing I missed when we lived in Colorado....being able to SEE the sunrises and sunsets....it doesn't get much prettier than this.

Above: This one as you know if featured at the top of my blog. It's my favorite panoramic landscape I have taken.... I'm not sure why lol! I just love how that jet trail arches over the mountains like a rainbow. This was taken outside of Aspen, Colorado in May 2009 - My 3 year anniversary (he was so sweet to surprise me with a weekend in Aspen; although we didn't spend much time in town, mainly exploring places like this!).

Above: This photo was also taken near Echo Lake in Evergreen, Colorado. It may not be the best photo I've ever taken but the roots give it so much character! :)

Expect Changes | Chickasha, OK Photographer

Expect to see some changes around here in the next couple of months! I'm having issues losing some integrity and color to some of my images when I upload them to this blog so I will be pulling images from previous posts off and trying a new technique. For a photographer this is BAD, it doesn't show the full extent of your talent....we'll see how it goes!

I've made tons of changes to my website over the past couple of months, let me know what you think, I LOVE feedback!

New Year | New Me

I've always had a obsession with food. Ever since I was little I was ALWAYS hungry. If you don't believe me, ask my mom! lol. I had always been pretty thin through high school and then I started dating my now husband, Dylan. He made me feel comfortable in my own skin, which is AWESOME but I let my guard down and ate what I wanted. I've gained and lost so much over the past 6 years it's ridiculous! This past year I've gained around 40lbs due not only to the fact that I ate pretty badly but also health issues. My New Years resolution (like so many others) is to lose every bit of that and keep it off! It's definitely a struggle for me but it feels different this time....I feel so motivated. For the last week and a half I have been watching what I eat but only slightly; I started my actual calorie diet on the 1st and haven't broken it yet. I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper and I have not had one since and my head is POUNDING!!

I'm using SparkPeople.com to help me with this journey. It's such an amazing site, you can track your calories, find recipes, view other peoples progress, and the list is really endless! Hopefully it'll help keep me on track. I'm so tired of feeling so sluggish all the time; I even tend to lose my breath during a photo shoot and that's SAD! What's crazy is during the 1 week I was only watching my soda intake and a little of what I was eating I was already down 1 lb! This morning I get on the scale and I'm down another! I know 2 lbs isn't a huge deal but it helps motivate me more and more! Losing weight feels so much better than anything tastes! I know I can do this.....

I'm sorry there are no photos in this post....I guess it doesn't really have to do anything with TSP, just personal. =)

Yesterday morning I got to do "Tooty's" second annual Christmas/Fall photos...It's taken us a while to find a break in each other's schedule to even make this happen! =)

"Tooty" is little Makayla, she's such a little Diva! But when she's done taking photos, she means it.... Kendra and I both know this so we always try to work quickly and bribe her with cakes and cookies. We always manage to get some adorable shots of the beautiful little girl.

I love when it comes time to do Makayla's Christmas/Birthday/Halloween/whatever other occasion we can use as an excuse photos. This means I get to practice studio portraits! Although I still don't have the equipment I LOOONG to have I can still rig something up and be fairly successful ;o)

A Change in Scheduling....and Life | Chickasha, Oklahoma Photographer

So as most of my blog "followers" know I have a full time job other than photography. Unfortunately I can't pay the bills at $60.00 a session so I have a full-time job PLUS my part-time job, photography.

I live in Chickasha and currently commute to Lawton for my full-time job which allows me to do most of my photography sessions in the Lawton area. Sadly to say but that's changing, as of today. I am taking an opportunity in Chickasha and will be starting there on the 10th. So now most of my sessions will have to take place in Chickasha. I am still willing to travel but I can't for $60.00; there will be a traveling fee added to anyone who wants to shoot in Lawton or anywhere 20 miles outside of zip code 73018.

I won't be scheduling any shoots until after the 10th of November :o(

It's kind of bitter/sweet.... I love birthdays, don't get me wrong :o), but I look back on this past year and what have I done? I guess it's to be expected when you move a lot like we have. We moved back from Denver just over a year ago and I've had 3 jobs since then and have barely gotten my photography off the ground...we tried starting a family but only failed, was diagnosed with PCOS and I managed to gain over 30lbs...

Things will only be different only if I make it different.

This year...

I vow to.....
-lose 40ish pounds
-be a better wife
-take better care of myself
-take better care of my home
-push myself to learn more about photography
-always put my family first
-find a studio and practice practice practice!

I had a good friend contact me wanting some photos of her and her two baby girls. She already had a location in mind; a house in the wildlife refuge that was very special to her. I realized how out of shape I was carrying my gear and a two year old on my hip walking about 200 yards through a field of grass about waist high, but it was well worth it!

I had the pleasure of working with Anna this past week. She's an amazing girl, so mature for her age, as is her sister as well.

We were able to use their beautiful home on Ft. Sill as a main backdrop for the photos. There was a church, some old barracks and a park as well. It definitely gave me something different which was a God send :o), thanks to Karen, Anna's Mom!

Mom wanted a serious shot and I can see why, aren't they beautiful!

I believe this my favorite from the session! This girl just doesn't take a bad photo!

No Gromit smiles here! You would've had to be there ;o).

So this really surprises me... Last week I had the pleasure of shooting some good friends and their gorgeous family. Steven (who work's with my husband) is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He's constantly smiling and talking to people and just always making people feel comfortable. Apparently he doesn't like to take pictures....hm. I guess just like every normal man in our neck of the woods, lol. I could NOT get a smile out of him...

What can I say about Kirsta? I don't think that any one word can describe this girl! She's so fun, energetic and outgoing! Not to mention her family is a hoot too! :oP

We had to reschedule her shoot twice, once for a ridiculous storm that I blogged about a while back and the second time I had to cancel because of my accident (also previously blogged about)! Once the weather decided to stop working against us we (finally) were able to enjoy her shoot.

I Hate Driving in the Rain....

Sorry I've been so behind lately, it's been an insane crazy week.

I got in a car accident the other day during all the rain we had.

No I wasn't on my phone and I didn't have my cruise set ;o) I was running about 60 on

the interstate on my long drive home from work and hit a bad spot, hydroplaned and did a few

loopdies before I ended up backwards about a foot away from a barb wire fence. I was very blessed that my SUV didn't roll, someone had their eye out for me that's for sure. I met the nicest man ever, Tom, who sat with me for about an hour until my husband got there , then he helped him pull me out as well; people like Tom are very rare anymore.

Although I'm miserably sore, there were no injuries and no one else was involved, thank the Lord. It just really bothers me how the 5 or 6 cars behind me just watched it happen and didn't even stop. I guess people are in too much of a hurry these days to care.

Please be careful driving in the rain... Don't push it.

This had the potential to be so much worse.

Just after my maternity shoot with Stefanie, I was suppose to have another shoot with a Senior named Kirsta... It started to get super windy and dark. I didn't have her phone number (what was I thinking?!) so I just started shooting her tons of emails hoping she would get them and not show up. I waited as long as I could but it was pitch black already and I had to leave for my hour commute back home to Chickasha.

When I left the lightening was literally striking right beside my car.... I wanted SO BAD to stop and take photos but I'm that stupid! ;o) I drove onto the interstate when it starts pouring on me... I get a few miles down the road before I start to be blinded by the rain. I couldn't see the lines in the road and my suv was blowing all over the place! So what do you do? Pull over! Only I was terrified that I was going to get rammed so I booked it and took off...at very high speeds of 15 mph! :o)

It wasn't all disastrous though... I didn't manage to get this shot of the storm before it completely hit.

I don't think he thought it was so beautiful at 6:45am considering he was asleep in his car for about 15 minutes before I could get a hold of him lol! I don't blame him; he still rocked it! ;o)

I got to work with an old friend who I use to go to church with the other day. I think it had been probably 6 years or so since I've seen her or her family. She has some beautiful children and I was so happy to photograph her gorgeous boys, Drew, Jase and Kade. They were all SOOO cooperative and photogenic!

This weekend I had a shoot with Jenifer, her baby bump and her beautiful family!

We got up at the crack of dawn for these and I would say it was well worth it! The lighting was just GORGEOUS on her already glowing skin.

Their little boy is just so cool! He was great at taking pictures as long as he knew he was going to be able to swing afterwards!

Now this is still really hard to believe but my baby cousin, Samantha, is a Senior this year!

It's insane, I use to babysit her and her younger brother when I was 16... It's crazy the way that works, she is still just a little girl in my book ;o)

I had the pleasure of shooting the "S" family last weekend :o)

They are a family of 10; all very close to one another. I really admire that, not everyone

is blessed in the way that they are.

This is one of the largest family shoots I have done yet. It had it's challenges

that's for sure but I had a blast. They were all so patient with me as I moved

everyone around over and over ;o).

Thanks for choosing me Nicki to do your amazing family's shoot! It was wonderful working with you guys, I hope to do it again soon!

Babies Part 2!

I blogged several days ago about baby Taylor and MacKayla and their recent shoot. Unfortunately we had to reshoot for "technical difficulties". The babies were of course just gorgeous and sweet but the rest of us were drenched in sweat in 107 degree weather! I would say it was definitely worth it ;o)

Here a little teaser....

I thought this one was adorable of Mom and MacKayla....

We had a blast! I can't wait for MacKayla to start sitting up so we can shoot some more! She's got to be the happiest baby I have EVER seen... We've been through 3 extremely HOT shoots and I've seen her cry ONCE and it was only for a few seconds. Whitney you are BLESSED! :o)

A few months ago I shot Heath and Nicole's engagement photos.
They're one of my favorite couples to shoot! No denying how in love they
are with each other! They're just adorable together. Last weekend was there wedding.
Boy was I stressing! It all worked out wonderfully though :o)
